Sofia Goggia won the second Alpine Ski World Cup Super-G event held today in Soldeu, Andorra. Emma Aicher finished in second position, 0.24 seconds behind Goggia, to achieve her 10th podium in the 2025-2026 Alpine Ski World Cup season. Kajsa Vickhoff Lie rounded up the podium in third place, 0.31 seconds behind the winner. It's Lie's first podium in Super-G this season.

The 33-year-old Italian celebrated her first victory since the Super-G in Val d'Isère in January. She has won 28 races (nine of them in the Super-G) and achieved 68 podiums (24 of them in the Super-G) in the Alpine Ski World Cup.

She is the only skier to have finished in the Top 6 in every Super-G race this season. She has achieved podium finishes four times in six races, including two victories (in Val d'Isère and Soldeu), a second place in Crans-Montana, and a third place in St. Moritz.

"I’m really happy with my performance. The speed was there, and I felt free in my mind, focused solely on what I needed to do to perform at my best. I had a solid weekend, finishing third in Downhill and sixth yesterday. Today's race was quite similar to yesterday's, but we decided to adopt a different strategy for the central pitch, and it paid off in the end.

Of course, I still haven’t won in Downhill yet, which might seem a bit strange given that I’ve reached so many podiums in my career. However, I have a solid feeling with Super G, so I’m satisfied with that. It’s crucial to stay focused for the upcoming races, where we’ll be competing for everything," Goggia said.

With today's victory, Sofia Goggia consolidated her first place in the Super-G standings with 420 points. Alice Robinson is second with 336, and Emma Aicher is third with 304.

Aicher has made notable progress in the Overall standings, now trailing Mikaela Shiffrin by 219 points and Camile Rast by 49 points. There are three speed races scheduled over the next seven days, before the USA and Swiss skiers are expected to return to competition.
