Nine World Cup wins this season, two discipline Crystal Globes (Downhill and Super-G), and another Overall World Cup title. Marco Odermatt (Switzerland)Â has once again demonstrated he is the most consistent and therefore the best ski racer of our era for the fifth consecutive time.
Marco Odermatt ended the season with 1,626 points in the overall World Cup rankings. Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, in second place, was 568 points behind, while Atle Lie McGrath took third, trailing by 690 points.
The 28-year-old Swiss Ace has won the Overall Crystal Globe five consecutive times: 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026. He finished the 2025-2026 winter season with 16 Crystal Globes (5 Overall, 3 in Downhill, 4 in Super-G, and 4 in Giant Slalom). With 16 Globes, Marco Odermatt is the third most successful men's skier of all time. Marcel Hirscher, with 20 Globes, leads the way; Ingemar Stenmark is second with 18.
Odermatt claimed his third consecutive Downhill Crystal Globe. The last Swiss skier to win the Downhill Crystal Globe before Odermatt was Beat Feuz, who won four between 2017-2018 and 2020-2021.
During this season, the 28-year-old Swiss ski champion secured a podium finish in the Downhill eight times out of nine races, achieving four victories in Beaver Creek, Val Gardena, Wengen, and Garmisch Partenkirchen.Â
This season, Odermatt clinched his fourth consecutive Super-G Crystal Globe. Aksel Lund Svindal and Hermann Maier share the Men's record with five Super-G titles, while Pirmin Zurbriggen won four. The 28-year-old Swiss superstar is the first man since Maier to win three Super-G globes in a row. He holds the Men's record with four Super-G globes in a row from 1998-2001.
This season, he finished in the Super-G podium 3 times, including two wins in Copper Mountain and Kitzbühel.
The Swiss Ace is the fourth man to win at least 17 World Cup Super-G World Cup races, after Hermann Maier (24), and Aksel Lund Svindal (17).
With 54 wins (8 DH, 17 SG, and 29 GS) and 102 podium finishes across all disciplines (46 in Giant Slalom, 28 in Super-G, and 28 in Downhill), Odermatt holds the record for the most World Cup podiums by a Swiss male skier.
Marco Odermatt is the benchmark of the Alpine Ski World Cup.
