Laura Pirovano repeated at the top of the podium in the last Downhill of the Alpine Ski World Cup season. She finished 0.15 seconds ahead of Breezy Johnson. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann finished in third place, 0.25 seconds behind.

The 28-year-old Italian skier completed her impressive run with her third consecutive victory at the World Cup Finals in Kvitfjell. Her winning streak began two weeks ago with her maiden victory in Val di Fassa.

Pirovano secured Italy's eighth Downhill crystal Globe today. Since the 2020-2021 winter season, except for 2023-2024, when Cornelia Hütter triumphed, the title in the Downhill has always gone to an Italian skier.

"It’s more than a dream. I didn’t even dream about it; it was something too big. To win a World Cup race, yes, but to win this Crystal Globe here, no, it was too much for me, and that’s why it was unbelievable," Pirovano said.

Emma Aicher finished today in fifth position and has made notable progress in the Overall standings, now trailing Mikaela Shiffrin by 95 points.
