After claiming her first Alpine Ski World Cup win and podium yesterday, Laura Pirovano repeated at the top of the podium in Val di Fassa in a super close race. The 28-year-old Italian ski triumphed again by the narrowest of margins, just 0.01 seconds ahead of Austria's Cornelia Hütter. Corinne Suter finished in third place, 0.05 seconds behind.

With today's win, Laura Pirovano took the lead of the Downhill standings with 436 points. Emma Aicher, who finished 12th today, is second with 408 points. Injured Lindsey Vonn is third with 400 points. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann follows closely in fourth with 351 points.

Pirovano was the most regular Downhill skier of the season. She has finished in the Top 10 in every Downhill race this winter. A ninth place in Soldeu last weekend was his worst result.

Emma Aicher (1016 points) has made a little progress in the Overall standings, now trailing Mikaela Shiffrin (1133) by 117 points with another speed race, a Super-G, scheduled tomorrow. Camille Rast is now in third place with 963 points. Shiffrin was focused this season on technical disciplines (Slalom and Giant Slalom), but has decided to enter the Super-G to defend her lead.
