Julia Scheib has achieved her fourth victory and sixth podium finish in the Giant Slalom for the 2025-2026 winter season. After finishing third in the first run, she delivered another master class, securing the best time in the second run. After seven races, Scheib boasts four wins and two second-place finishes. Camille Rast finished in second place, 0.37 seconds behind Scheib, while Sara Hector, the fastest skier in the first run, completed the podium, finishing 0.46 seconds off the pace.

After her fourth consecutive Giant Slalom podium this season, the Austrian skier leads the discipline standings with 560 points, 139 points ahead of Camille Rast. Sara Hector is in third place with 329 points. Alice Robinson, who finished in 13th place today, slipped from third to fourth place in the World Cup Giant Slalom standings.

"The plan from the start was to find a good pace. The run was less turny than the first, which suited me. I’m happy that it finally worked out here. I tried to ski the last few gates straighter, while also staying focused. If you let your skis go too early, it can end badly here," Scheib said.

Scheib led Austria to its first Giant Slalom victory in Kronplatz, marking the 400th World Cup win for the Austrian women's ski team.

Camille Rast secured her 7th World Cup podium of the 2025-2026 winter season, the third one in the Giant Slalom.

"I think I lost a lot of time in the bottom section. Overall, it was a good race. I skied not aggressively enough in the first run. But I'm happy to be on the podium here, on this difficult course. The runs are certainly longer, but that doesn’t bother me. We’re ready for runs like this. It’s nice; it adds a bit more excitement to the races. The work I’ve put into the Giant Slalom is paying off," Rast said.

Federica Brignone finished in sixth place in her comeback. It's been 292 days since Federica Brignone suffered fractures to her left tibia and fibula, as well as a torn cruciate ligament, in a crash at the Italian Championships.

Mikaela Shiffrin is still fighting to find her best form in the Giant Slalom, settling for fourth place. Shiffrin has not made the podium in her last 12 World Cup Giant Slalom races, which is her longest streak without a Giant Slalom podium since her first 15 Giant Slalom races from 2010-2011 to 2013-2014.

Emma Aicher, the all-rounder German skier competing in all four disciplines, took a break and skipped the Giant Slalom at Kronplatz. The 22-year-old rising star has started 21 World Cup races this winter.
