Laura Pirovano won the last Downhill of the Alpine Ski World Cup season and claimed her first career Downhill title. She finished 0.15 seconds ahead of Breezy Johnson. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann finished in third place, 0.25 seconds behind.
The 28-year-old Italian skier completed her impressive run with her third consecutive victory at the World Cup Finals in Kvitfjell. Her winning streak began two weeks ago with her maiden victory in Val di Fassa.
Pirovano finished in the Top 10 in every Downhill race last winter season. A ninth place in Soldeu was his worst result.
Pirovano secured Italy's eighth Downhill Crystal Globe today. Since the 2020-2021 winter season, except for 2023-2024, when Cornelia Hütter triumphed, the title in the Downhill has always gone to an Italian skier.
Laura Pirovano secured the Downhill title with a total of 536 points. Emma Aicher (453), along with Breezy Johnson (413), took second and third place in the discipline's rankings. Her previous best finish in the Downhill standings was a sixth position in 2020-2021 and 2025-2026.
