Following Malorie Blanc's victory on Saturday, Downhill World Champion Franjo Von Allmen won the sixth race of the Alpine Ski World Cup Downhill season in Crans Montana. Today, the 24-year-old talent secured his second Downhill win of the winter season, bringing his total Alpine Ski World Cup victories to five. Dominik Paris finished in second place, 0.65 seconds behind the Swiss skier, while US skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle placed third, 0.70 seconds behind.
Swiss skiers have reached the podium in all World Cup Downhill races in Crans Montana to date, achieving a total of eight podium finishes in five races, including three wins, two of them by Franjo Von Allmen (2025 and 2026).
"The memories of last year were definitely there. I had a big flashback at the start. The emotions were very strong. It’s always something special to race in Switzerland; there’s a great atmosphere here. The victory and a more or less flawless run were important before the Olympic Winter Games," Von Almmen said.
The Swiss Downhillers stood out as an unmatched team in their own league. Today, eight Downhill Swiss skiers finished in the Top-16. Franjo Von Allmen's win in Crans Montana was the 20th time in succession that at least one Swiss skier has featured on a World Cup Downhill podium, the nation’s longest ever streak. However, Switzerland still has a long way to go to match the record of 33 consecutive Downhill podium finishes achieved by Austrian skiers during the 2002-2003 and 2005-2006 winter seasons.
Thanks to his podium finish in Crans Montana, his 52nd in the World Cup, Dominik Paris joins Franz Heinzer in 6th place on the all-time Men’s Downhill World Cup Top-3 finishes list, with 34 podiums. Beat Feuz, with 47 podiums, tops this list.
Today, Ryan Cochran-Siegle's third-place finish makes him the most successful active US skier, based on the number of top-three World Cup Downhill finishes. He achieved his second podium finish of the season, his fifth overall in the World Cup.
Two time-defending Downhill Crystal Globe winner Marco Odermatt is leading the 2025-2026 World Cup discipline standings after six events with 510 points. Franjo von Allmen is second with 395 points. Dominik Paris is third with 296 points.
In the absence of Vincent Kriechmayr, the Austrian team failed again to claim the win in the Downhill. This is team Austria’s 22nd consecutive Downhill World Cup race without a win. This streak matches the all-time longest one for Austria, which happened during the 1985-1986 and 1988-1989 winter seasons. Vincent Kriechmayr was the last Austrian to win a Downhill race in Grandvalira Soldeu - El Tarter in March 2023.
