Today in Tarvisio, Emma Aicher claimed her fourth Alpine Ski World Cup win, and her second in the Super-G. The 22-year-old German rising star, who finished fifth in yesterday's Downhill race, finished 0.27 seconds ahead of runner-up Lindsey Vonn. Ester Ledecká finished 0.94 seconds behind in third place.
It's her second victory and fourth podium in the 2025-2026 winter season. She won the Downhill event in St. Moritz in December and secured two third places in Slalom in Levi and Courchevel. Aicher is the only skier competing in the four disciplines.
"I like all the disciplines. I like that I can change slopes fast. One day I'm doing Downhill and the next day I'm doing Slalom."
"I'm pretty happy with how I skied from top to bottom. I had a few moments where it was like, 'Ooh, it could be tight.' But it was a nice course, it was fun to ski, and I'm happy with how I skied. It's a nice slope. It's not that hard, but I think it's pretty hard to be fast," Aicher said.
Lindsey Vonn achieved her seventh podium finish of the season in eight speed races, finishing only outside the Top-3 in the Super-G at St. Moritz, where she placed fourth. It's her 145th World Cup podium, the 49th in Super-G, which is the most for Women and Men.
"If I can fight for the Globe in Super-G as well, that would be amazing. I obviously feel really confident in Downhill, but Super-G could be a little better, so today was a good step in the right direction, and it gives me confidence for Milano Cortina," Vonn said.
Ester Ledecka claimed her first Super-G World Cup podium in nearly two years and reminded the field that she is a contender to reclaim the Olympic Super G gold medal she won at PyeongChang 2018.
"I was happy about having fun on my skis, that was the main point of the day. I was even afraid to get the time, I was like, 'I don't even want to know if it was fast or not' — it was just fun," Ledecka said.
