Men and Women will kick off the speed season in Beaver Creek, USA, in December. The Women's calendar will feature a Downhill and a Super-G on the Birds of Prey slope, following the traditional Men's weekend. This year's event marks the first time the women's World Cup speed circuit has visited Beaver Creek since 2013. Also for the first time in history, the world’s best Women’s ski racers will race Downhill on the legendary Birds of Prey course.
The Men's 2024 skiing weekend will conclude with a Giant Slalom on Sunday.
Following the speed events at Beaver Creek, both the Men’s and Women’s teams will return to Europe.
This winter "The Critérium de la Première Neige à Val d'Isère" celebrates its 69th anniversary. Since 1968, the event has been a key stop on the Alpine Ski World Cup calendar. The Men’s Giant Slalom and Slalom events will be held on December 14th and 15th at La Face de Bellevarde, one of the most iconic and challenging racecourses on the Alpine Ski World Cup Tour.
Following Beaver Creek, the world's fastest Women will gather in St. Moritz (Switzerland) for the second stop of the speed calendar. Two Super-G races are scheduled to take place in the Upper Engadine Valley on the World Championship course “Engiadina” on Corviglia. St. Moritz, a classic and a fixed date in the women's Ski World Cup calendar, will mark the return of Lindsey Vonn to the Alpine Ski World Cup.
The 57th Saslong Classic in Val Gardena/Gröden will take place on the last weekend before Christmas. Val Gardena is home to the Saslong Classic, one of the iconic Men's World Cup Downhill races. The Saslong course is considered one of the five "classic" Men's Downhill races, along with Garmisch-Partenkirchen's Kandahar, Kitzbühel's Hahnenkamm, Wengen's Lauberhorn, and Val-d'Isère's Criterium de la Première Neige (FRA).
Women will bid farewell to 2024 in Austria with Giant Slalom and Slalom races in Semmering on December 28th and 29th. The inaugural Women's Alpine Ski World Cup races took place at Hirschenkogel in Semmering in December 1995.
Bormio will host the last two races of 2024 for the Men. Bormio has a well-earned reputation on the men’s circuit as being one of the most challenging Downhill races in the world with racers facing a dark, fast, bumpy, and icy ride year after year. Alongside the Streif of Kitzbuhel, the Stelvio slope is considered to be one of the most technical and spectacular slopes in the world.
