Under the lights of the Hermann Maier racecourse in Flachau, Mikaela Shiffrin was crowned "Princess of Snow Space Salzburg" for the sixth time. Mikaela Shiffrin has won the Night Slalom in Flachau six times: 2013, 2014, 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2026. Shiffrin finished on the podium 11 times in 12 starts at Flachau.
Shiffrin finished ahead of Paula Moltzan (+0.22) and Katharina Truppe (+0.65).
The US skier secured her sixth victory of the season. Today's win marked her 107th career World Cup victory and her 70th in Slalom.
With her victory, Shiffrin extended her lead over Camille Rast in the overall standings to 170 points and in the Slalom to 268.
"Something I learned from Kranjska Gora is how important it is to get more comfortable with high speed in Slalom. So we were practicing that, and I felt like I could show some of my top speed tonight in my second run," Shiffrin said.
"It's amazing to share this with Paula. Podiums with teammates is the best thing in the world," she added.
Paula Moltzan secured her eighth World Cup podium finish, her third this season.
"I've skied with Mikaela since I was 13; it's nothing new, but it doesn't mean I don't want to beat her. We talk about it all the time. It's going to happen at some point. I'll keep fighting until I get there," Moltzan said.
Katharina Truppe has shown great consistency in recent races and has earned her place on the podium today with a superb performance. It's her sixth World Cup podium finish, five of which were third places. Her only victory came in Åre in 2025.
"I was really nervous before the second run. But being on the podium feels great, it’s really cool. I let the fans carry me; their loud shouts gave me wings and helped me gain those two hundredths of a second. The tension was enormous; it was really tough. But I just found my rhythm and feel comfortable on my skis,” said Truppe.
