Mikaela Shiffrin secured another dominant victory in the Slalom event at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Are. She finished 0.94 seconds ahead of Emma Aicher and 1.00 seconds ahead of Wendy Holdener. It was Shiffrin's seventh Slalom victory in Are and her eighth overall.

Shiffrin secured her eighth victory of the season. Today's win marked her 109th career World Cup victory and her 72nd in Slalom. She equaled the record for most Slalom wins in a season (8), a mark she already shared (2018-2019) with Janica Kostelic (2000-2001).

The 31-year-old US skier claimed in Spindleruv Mlyn her ninth Slalom Crystal Globe, which is the most in any event by any skier, surpassing Lindsey Vonn’s eight Downhill Globes and Ingemar Stenmark’s eight Giant Slalom and eight Slalom titles.

Mikaela Shiffrin has increased her lead over German skier Emma Aicher by 20 points. The 31-year-old ski star is currently leading the overall standings with 1,286 points. Emma Aicher, with 1,146 points, is now 140 points behind.
