Julia Scheib achieved today in Are her fifth victory and seventh podium in the Giant Slalom for the 2025-2026 Alpine Ski World Cup winter season. Paula Moltzan finished in second place, 0.36 seconds behind Scheib. Alice Robinson completed the podium, finishing 0.75 seconds off the pace.

With her victory today, the 27-year-old secured Austria's first Giant Slalom Crystal Globe in ten years. Eva-Maria Brem was the last Austrian skier to win the title in the 2015-2016 winter season.

This season, she has reached her seventh podium in the Giant Slalom World Cup (five wins and two second places), matching the record for the most podium finishes by an Austrian skier in this event during a single season. Anita Wachter first set this record in 1998-1999, and Michaela Dorfmeister later matched it in 1999-2000. The overall record for the most women’s Giant Slalom podiums in a single season is held by Tina Maze, who achieved nine podiums in 2012-2013.

"It feels incredibly good. I had such a fight in the second run because I really wanted the globe. It’s fantastic that it worked out so well. The plan was to ski better than in the first run; there was more potential there. I executed it," Scheib said.

Mikaela Shiffrin finished today in fifth place just behind Emma Aicher and scored five points less than the German all-rounder skier. The 31-year-old ski ace is now leading the overall standings with 1186 points. Emma Aicher (1066 points) is second, 120 points behind. Camille Rast, who DNF today, is in third place with 963 points.
