Canadian Valerie Grenier won the last Alpine Ski World Cup Giant Slalom of the 2025-2026 winter season in Hafjell. She finished 0.43 seconds ahead of Mina Fürst Holtmann. Giant Slalom Crystal Globe winner Julia Scheib took third place, 0.57 seconds behind Grenier. Mikaela Shiffrin secured her sixth overall Crystal Globe with an eleventh-place finish in today's race. She finished only 87 points ahead of Emma Aicher.

Leading the group of top female skiers in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is Mikaela Shiffrin, a record-holder with more than 100 victories. Federica Brignone and Lara Gut-Behrami, along with Lindsey Vonn, round out the group of active skiers in this elite selection.

Downhill is considered the premier discipline and is the longest and, after the slalom, second-oldest alpine skiing competition. Since its inception in 1967, Downhill has been an integral part of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.
