Zrinka Ljutic secured her third victory of the season in the Alpine Ski World Cup at Courchevel, having previously won at Semmering and Kranjska Gora. Sara Hector took second place, trailing the Croatian by 1.26 seconds. Lena Dürr came in third, 1.28 seconds behind Ljutic.

The 21-year-old ski talent is the first woman other than Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova to win three out of four World Cup Slaloms since Marlies Schild in 2012.

"Unbelievable! I'm lost for words. I didn't know that the second run was so fast. It was difficult, there were a lot of tracks on the slope. I tried to hit the tracks and attack a bit," Ljutic said.

Sara Hector secured her third Slalom podium in the Alpine Ski World Cup today in Courchevel. After waiting 14 seasons to reach her first World Cup Slalom podium, which she accomplished a year ago in Flachau, Hector is now among the skiers contending for victory in the Slalom discipline.

"I would have been super happy with sixth place and now I am in second, that’s crazy. I did not expect that today. I didn’t really have the feeling for it but apparently it was fast. Maybe it was difficult to have really nice skiing here," Hector said.

Lena Dürr achieved her third podium finish of the season, marking her 15th podium in Slalom at the Alpine Ski World Cup.

"The last races haven’t been like we all wanted it, like the team wanted it, like I wanted it and now it’s a good last result before we start the World Championships next weekend," Dürr said.

US star Mikaela Shiffrin finished tenth in her comeback and was pleased with her performance.

"I think it was a great success. It gives us a direction on what we need to work on in the next few weeks. The fact that I was able to race before the World Championships is also incredible. The conditions were challenging today and I made a step forward compared to training. It was also good to see the level of the other competitors. Everything is OK for me," Shiffrin said.
