Marcel Hirscher's comeback season has already ended due to an injury to the eight-time overall Alpine Ski World Cup winner. The 35-year-old ski ace sustained a knee injury during a Giant Slalom training session on the Reiteralm yesterday and has already undergone successful surgery in Graz.

The injury occurred after a seemingly harmless slip following a mistake on the inside ski. According to the doctor's diagnosis, Hirscher suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee with a minor injury to the outer capsule apparatus.

This is the first time in Marcel Hirscher's career that he has suffered a cruciate ligament tear.
