The journey we began in Sölden in October will come to an end in March with the Alpine Ski World Cup Finals in Sun Valley.
Following Sestriere's return to the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup Calendar, La Thuile in Italy follows after a Scandinavian two-week block in Norway and Sweden in Kvitfjell and Are.
The canceled Women's World Cup Super-G from St. Moritz, originally scheduled for the 22nd of December 2024 will be rescheduled in La Thuile on 14th March 2025.
After the Classic stop in Kranjska Gora, the Men's World Cup Tour will stay for two weekends in Norway, with a technical double event in a new venue, Hafjell, the last weekend before the Finals, following the speed races in Kvitfjell.
From 22 to 27 March, the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024-2025 Finals will take place in Sun Valley (USA), a small village in Idaho. This announcement marks a significant moment for Ski Racing in the United States, with the last hosting of a Sun Valley Alpine Ski World Cup dating back to March 6th, 1977.
Sun Valley has successfully hosted the U.S. Alpine Ski Championships in 2016, 2018, 2023, and 2024.
Since 1993 the International Ski Federation has hosted a World Cup Final at the end of each season in March. During the Finals, Men's and Women's races are held in four disciplines: Downhill, Super-G, Slalom, and Giant Slalom. Only a limited number of racers are invited to ski at the Finals, including the top 25 in the World Cup standings in each discipline, plus the current junior World Champions in each discipline, with World Cup points only awarded to the top 15 finishers in each race.
