Timon Haugan won the thrilling Alpine Ski World Cup Slalom in Val d'Isere and celebrated his fifth World Cup victory. The Norwegian finished 0.28 seconds ahead of Loic Meillard. His compatriot, Henrik Kristoffersen, took third place, 0.34 seconds behind.

This winter "The Critérium de la Première Neige à Val d'Isère" celebrates its 70th anniversary. Since 1968, Val d'Isere has been a key stop on the Alpine Ski World Cup calendar. The Men’s Giant Slalom and Slalom events will be held on December 13th and 14th at La Face de Bellevarde, one of the most iconic and challenging racecourses on the Alpine Ski World Cup Tour.

After four starts, three of which resulted in a DNF, and a 27th-place finish as his best result, Marco Odermatt added the Giant Slalom World Cup at the Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek to his list of wins.
